Where do you buy Holiday decor?

Share!!!

I convinced DH last night to let me start decorating the house next week so I get to start stocking up on stuff this weekend - yay!! Plus, I am throwing a big Holiday Dinner Party this year and I want to start planning my decor.

I usually get stuff at Pier One, Target and Home Depot. However, last year, as I was planning the office holiday Gala, I discovered a JACKPOT of holiday stuff at Berkley's Wholesale Florist. They have a back room full of holiday stuff (not to mention that they have great, cheap flowers - I am obsessed with having fresh flowers at my house at all times).

And we get our tree from Grace Church, it lasted from Thanksgiving all the way to January last year.

Re: Where do you buy Holiday decor?

  • I normally go to Kmart for all the balls since They usually have awesome colors. But I saw all the stuff at Pier 1 this year and got excited. I collect Hallmark Ornaments so our tree is mostly that but I like to get balls in a certain color every year. We have TONS of lights etc since I always go to Target after  Christmas and take advantage of the clerance sales. :)

We had bought a fake tree after the first year and then last year we bought a real one. Ended up being a mission because we can't throw it away in the dumpsters here in the complex. We did it anyway after we cut the tree in to a million pieces but I'm not doing that again this year. I just need to find a bigger tree. Our ceilings are super high and out 6ft tree just doesn't cut it!

  • I always get my Christmas stuff from all over. But 95% of my Christmas stuff is from Pier 1.  I go every year after the holidays and get it for super cheap.  Not sure if I am going to go this year because I have so much stuff.  Wait??  Who am I kidding I am definitely going to be there after Christmas.  LOL I really want to go to the Christmas store off of the 836.  Has anyone been there before?

  • I buy our Holiday decor, at Target, Pier 1, Walmart ( I bought some really cute snowflake lights from there last year) And since this is our second year in the house I can buy more stuff...I love ornaments too and my MIL gets us one that has our last name on it and the year every year and it is Irish themed b/c they are Irish.

We have a fake tree b/c my dogs pee on the real ones so those aren't allowed in my house...

I have wanted to go check that out also...

  • Im a newbie at this....so I dont have much. Last year was our first Christmas in our home but my wedding was the weekend before Thanksgiving so I was pressed for time.

My aunt gave me a bunch of stuff that she purcahsed at kmart.

She also gave me some ornaments she purchased at "The Christmas Place." Not sure if anyone has heard of it but its located off the Palmetto in Hialeah. Ive only been once and its amazing!!!

I received a Lennox ornament from my sister-in-law that says "Our First Christmas" so I decided to do the ornament tradition too. This year I purchased one on etsy and its monogrammed. I cant wait for it to arrive.

What else.....I bought some little knick knacks on abc distributing and I really want to check out pier 1 and kirklands.

The Christmas Palace is great!!! We went there right before our wedding last year to buy our Christmas tree decor and for starters we got a lot of good stuff! Last Christmas was our first Christmas too but we really didn't get to enjoy it as much since our wedding was on the 12th and we didn't get back from our honeymoon til the 22nd. So this year I'm going full force since we have our new home.

We also do the whole ornament tradition but with Disney ornaments. We go almost every year so we hit up Downtown Disney and DH gets his own ornament (which is usually firefighter related), I get one ornament (which is always tinkerbell) and then we get an "us" ornament.

  • Also, came across this site. It's almost like an abc distributing... They have some nice cheap Christmas stuff.

  • I love Pier 1!! I'll probably get stuff from there, and some odds and ends from Big Lots and Old Time Pottery.

I really want some Christmas dishes, place mats, and napkins from Crate and Barrel too.  I have some gift cards for there which may go towards that :)

  • Michi - I LOVE C&B! I got a few awesome serving dishes there last year, not to mention they have great ornaments. Pottery Barn has pretty stuff too, but they're sooo expensive.
