SO: How do you decorate your house for the holidays?

I'm always looking for new, creative projects to do around the Holidays.

Last year, my coworker showed me how to make these beautiful ornament cluster balls to put on tables and around the house. You take a couple of round ornaments in similar sizes and color schemes (or colors that complement each other) and hook them all together with ornament hooks until they form a ball- then tie them together with a pretty ribbon and let the ribbon peek out of the ball in a pretty bow.

I always put up a wreath, my cinnamon brooms, lights on the house and candy canes along the driveway, I have an ornament tree from Pier One (that matches my ornament wreath) and of course our Christmas tree. Oh, I also have these pretty candle holders with this wreath sort of garland around them for my dining room table. I always put some new Christmas hand towels in the bathroom, too.

Re: SO: How do you decorate your house for the holidays?

  • I usually decorate my house in gold and red.  I change out everything from the throw pillows to the candles on every candle holder.  I love Christmas so it is fun to decorate.  I have not bought Christmas towels but I may this year for the kitchen.  I love the ornament tree from Pier 1.

  • This is what I did last year, but being that I was only here for two weeks in December after I came back for my honeymoon, I didn't have much time to do much.

I want to change it up this year.

Eli- You must show us pics of those ball cluster things! lol.

  • By this time next year, I'll have the time and energy to decorate the house, but since I've been in college, the only thing that gets decorated is the tree and slap a wreath on the front door.
