*~*~NEWSFLASH*~*~

IT'S EFFIN' HOT OUTSIDE!!!!!!!!!!

I told Paul today is the last day that I think I can get away with mowing the lawn.  It took me two and a half hours JUST to mow it because a) it is SOOO EFFIN' HOT OUT and b) the grass was soooo effin' thick that the mower kept shutting off.  UGGHH!!!!!!!!!  Normally, it takes about 45 minutes to mow, 20 minutes to edge and 10 minutes to use the blower.  Paul edged the front of the lawn and I told him to give it up because it was SO HOT.

I hate summer in Florida.  I really, really, really do.

Re: *~*~NEWSFLASH*~*~

  • Yeah, I grew up here and I'm still not used to it.  DH is from St. Augustine, and they always at least have a little breeze there.  What I hate about here is when it's absolutely dead outside and 80 million degrees, with no moving air.
  • I'm surprised you have done it this long.  I think you are better than me.  I would have stopped after being prego a few weeks.
  • I can't believe you've kept it up this long and preggo! I agree with Star, you are better then me too cause I would have stopped after a few weeks of being preggo as well.
  • I'm one of those goofy people who actually enjoys yardwork ;)  When I was pregnant with Maddy, I actually mowed the lawn right up to the week before she was born (broken toes and all).  But she was born in February...no where near as hot as July.

Paul actually Googled if it was okay for me to mow the lawn at the stage of the game.  He hates yard work but he hates when I'm out there doing it.  ;)

  • Good for you...I am making Dan clean the tub now because I cannot bend over to clean it. I can't imagine doing yardwork!!!!!!!!!! AHHHH It is too freakin hot out..agreed.
  • I am right there w/you...I LOVE IT!! I mowed the back (Dh does front w/have 1/4 acre and I told him if he got a push mower when we bought I would help w/the yardwork for exercise), edged, then I weeded front and back...then we trimmed trees and I had to help load tree trash...it was sooo hot afterwards.

  • Ewwwww....I love the heat but I couldn't imagine mowing the lawn in it. ?That's why we have someone do it for us. ?(Lazy, I know.)
  • Yeah, B and I also felt the heat yesterday.  We spent 7 hours running around in the heat running errands, etc. It seriously felt like it was 500 degrees out there.  So we spent a lot of the day sweating outside and then when we finally made it inside we would freeze, since everyone had their AC cranked up as high as it would go!  Then we'd  go outside and sweat again.  It was gross.  We were both sweaty and miserable by the time we made it home.  Ugh. . . . I can't wait for vacation.
  • Ugh! Wanna hear something really painful? I had no air this whole weekend (luckily I was out of town) because lightning hit my air conditioner thingy. The guy just left. Luckily it was only $220 to fix - but sheesh. Sleeping in 88 degrees is not fun!!!

  • Hey...I wouldn't mow the effen lawn if I wasn't preggo...You get three cheers from for going this long!
  • I'm shocked that you are still doing the lawn work.  You are a strong woman!!  I used to be the one to mow the lawn and Dave used to do the trimming and edging, and then we would then pull weeds together at the end.  Dave took over the lawn work quite a few weeks ago already, but I think mostly because my heart rate goes up so easily when I'm out in the heat and my doctor said not to get my heart rate over 140.  I guess I did do a little of the mowing a couple weeks ago, but just because it wasn't too hot out at the time.

I really hope you're not overdoing it though; take it easy, will ya!!???  Especially on these 90 degree days!!  Two and a half hours of mowing is a little much I would think.  Especially with the grass being so thick.

  • I didn't know pregnant women could do that sort of work.  More power to you!
