So if you've lived in Cleveland for over a year, you know by now that between the holidays and St. Patty's day, the city's pretty dim. Throughout the other three seasons, there are all kinds of outdoor activities, fairs, etc... but winter is lacking this type of event.
Some friends of mine are working to plan some kind of Winter Carnival event. Plans are in the VERY early stages right now. They have ideas that range from an outdoor rink to bonfires and sledding hills.
They have spoken to local Cleveland folks like Pop-up city, and are interested in recruiting people that are interested in helping to plan this grassrootsy type event.
This Sunday (Nov. 8th) they are scoping out some different sites starting at 1pm and then ending up at Great Lakes Brewery for dinner and more discussion on the event.
If you are interested in helping out, giving input, coming to any part of Sunday, etc.... send me an email at caw30@case.edu and I can get you more details. It's a fun group and would be a great way to meet other people in Cleveland!
Re: Winter Carnival
I'm not even in Cleveland yet, but I'm moving there 1/1 - I would love to help some time after that. I look forward to hearing more about it in the coming months!
Good luck!
