Do you get your eyes dialated at your annual appointment? I haven't had mine dialated in at least 15 years since my very first exam I think but DH is going next week and they said he will need someone to drive him and it will be an extra $40. I say its not necessary but wanted a second opinion.
Re: Eye doctor question
I go to the eye doctor eye year, and they've always dialated my pupils, but they give me the option not to especially if they think I'm driving. Dialation just helps them to see further into the eye, but they can do the exam without it.
And I think the dialation practice may vary from doctor to doctor because DH never had his dialated until a few months ago when he switched doctors, and he goes every year too.
I don't get mine dilated. I do get a 3d picture of my eye instead so my eye dr can evaluate any changes that are happening.
