Verizon wireless Phone: Droid

Anyone going to buy the new Verizon Wireless Phone: Droid that is coming out on Friday? Any opinions?

Re: Verizon wireless Phone: Droid

  • I'm not on Verizon and mid-contract with AT&T/iPhone...but the Droid looks pretty darn cool. G4 did a good review. The no multi-touch thing is just silly. I like the multi-tasking (switching between different programs) and I like the QWERTY keyboard (my thumbs + iPhone = constant misspellings).

I haven't got my hands on one to feel, but it looks pretty solid.

  • I'm considering it. I played with one at the store on Saturday, and my co-worker got one last night, so this morning has been full of playing with her new phone. LOL

I'd say if you are on verizon, it's the way to go. I'm still not sure about whether i'd switch, though.

That being said, I'm a current verizon customer, struggling with....do i get a droid, or do i switch to at&t and get an iphone?

Verizon has the better network, but I still think the IPhone is slightly cooler than the droid.

BUT, the keyboard on the droid is nice....nice to not have to type on the touchscreen.

    Decisions, decisions. :(

  • I have been wanting an iphone, but really struggling with not wanting to have ATT ( I left them years ago because I hate them, DH still has them but we don't get good service in out apt and we are in NYC so it should be fine, but it's not).

I ended up getting the Droid last weekend and I have to say, I love it!  The keyboard is really nice to have, but you can also type on the touch-screen.  There are a lot of apps, since it's an open market and not just the V-Cast stuff you can get lots of the same things as you can with the iphone.  I was a little dissapointed with the camera, it says it takes great pics, but I find it to be only ok.  The phone itself works great, the internet look is the same as the iphone, it's pretty great!

We're currently on a 15 month trip around the world!
