Tis the season!

Has anybody been brave enough to start listening to Christmas music yet?? I thought about it for a second and I almost started the music and changed my mind. I am afraid it is too early and I would hate to be tired of the holiday music before Christmas comes!

Re: Tis the season!

  • The local station we listen to here at work is playing 3 songs at the top of every hour. I am enjoying it, but it isn't so much where I will get sick of it by Christmas.

  • Not yet... but in a couple of weeks!  One local radio station turns into the Christmas Music station the day before THanksgiving... they do non-stop Christmas music... 24/7 until New Year's Day.  We usually start listening to it the day after Thanksgiving...

  • I've started but it doesn't feel right yet. My husband and I are going to do Christmas shopping at an outlet almost 2 hours away on Friday. I'm making Christmas Mixes now and I'm sure I'll be ready by then.

  • Hillysuze, you are too cute!! I cant start Christmas shopping yet, home shopping and wedding stuff are the extent of my shopping these days! I hope you have a Holly Jolly Day! Does your DH let you listen to Christmas music with him?? My FI wont come into the same city when I am playing holiday music, he hates it!
  • Yup!  There is a local radio station that started playing constant christmas musics the day after halloween :)  Christmas music is so nice to listen to and gets me in a good mood!
  • In 11 days, as soon as I am back from a work trip, the carols come out! I love Pandora!
  • Nope!  The "rule" growing up was that we had to wait until after Thanksgiving.  We eventually changed to waiting until Mom's birthday the week before.  I couldn't listen to it now...it's still too hot to keep my blinds open during the day here--not good Christmas music weather at all!
  • i've heard some songs in the stores (kohl's, jcpenny, etc) already.  usually about every 4-5 song.
    Kris....I'm finally a Mrs! 10/11/08
  • I turned it on for a bit this weekend while cleaning, but I am Holiday season obsessed. For me, Halloween is just a formality that we have to get out of the way before the celebrating can begin. Come Nov1, it is on! Holly Jooly Christmas and Happy Thanksgiving here I come (and department stores too!)

Glad I am not the only one who feels like this.

  • I have not but I noticed they have been playing it in stores.
  • Listening to it at work on accuholiday.com, only b/c I have 7 days left before I am out of here (to be a SAHM) and need motivation to keep working. It's makes me happy and puts me in a great mood.

I was about to say "Wow, what a coincidence, they're doing that exact thing on a station here too!"  And then I looked at your location, hah.

  • I work part time (for the discount) at Michaels arts and craft store...and we started playing non-stop Christmas music the day after Halloween.  Eventhough I only work there a few hours a week, I am already sick of the Christmas music.  Theres just something wrong with selling Halloween decoration and listening to Christmas songs while its 90 degrees outside.
  • It started in August. lol!
  • My rule is no Christmas music until the day after Thanksgiving! People need to slow it down and enjoy each holiday at a time and not be in such a rush to get to Christmas. I am dreading next week when the radio stations start playing Christmas music. I will be listening to CDs until Nov 27th!
  • Guilty Embarrassed

I started listening to Christmas music a week ago on my slacker radio. I haven't listened to it since then so I don't get burned out, but it was just enough to start getting me in the mood.
