IF the yankees win

I'm seriously thinking of un-friending all the obnixious yankees fans on FB. Is that bad?

Re: IF the yankees win

  • I think you better start now.  I was expecting this tonight!
  • I'm ok with the celebrating and being happy your team won (in fact, I'm all for it!) BUT, I can't stand when 1. everyone and their mother is now a fan and 2. they say that stupid comments about why and how their team won.
  • No, I'm sick of them too. I'm still proud of my Phillies though, no matter what happens!!! We knew this was going to be a tough series.

This is exactly what i mean.

  • This is why I don't do facebook.  I am also not a fan of celebrating anything before the game is over...you never know.  As evidenced by th stabbing pain I felt the night the Red sox won the ALCS.
  • I'm not one to get too upset about cheering by NORMAL fans, but a friend who was a Phillies fan last year, a Cards fan 2 years ago, but a HUGE self-proclaimed Cubs fan, I just CAN'T handle the "YEAH! Yankees are the best! I love the Yankees!!" stfu. now.

  • Where did they park their bandwagon?

And again...this game is far from over.  STFU until it is.

See though, I am a die-hard Reds fan.  I was born and raised in Cincinnati.  My heart and loyalties will always lie with them before any other team.  But I also love the Yankees.  They have been my AL team since I was 12.  And even though they're in the same division as the Reds, the Cubs have found a soft spot in my heart over the past couple years because I PPH Lou Piniella.  There are a variety of teams that I root for depending on the situation.  It doesn't mean that I jump on bandwagons or an wishy-washy.

  • You couldn't force me at gunpoint to root for the Red Sox or Mets.  I can't even root for my own division when the Red Sox are in the series.

I can definitely dig that. I guess it was just earlier this season that this same person was lamenting any Yankees success. And the fact that last year they were all about the Phils. That I don't like. Or understand.

It kills DH that I do it, but I will always cheer for the BoSox (unless they play the Twins)...my sister and BIL moved to Boston in 2004 and took me to a few games, it was pretty magical...like Disney World or something Smile

    LOL Too funny!

  • my thoughts exactly. they are SO obnoxious! still love my phillies <3?
  • Sigh. I have way too many friends who are Yankees fans. It's really annoying. FB has not been a fun place this past week.

PS. I'm trying to be the better person on FB today. I'm not writing any negative comments to my friends. There's no need to add fuel to the fire!

  • I honestly can't stand it.  Everyone seems to be a Yankees fan this morning.  Oh, and all those phillies bandwagon jumpers??  Yeah, apparently now the Phillies suck.  Jump on, jump off!

You sound like my DH. lol. He (legitimately) roots for about 4 teams. Being a diehard Red Sox fan, it drives me crazy! I can't fathom rooting for more than one team. Ever.

I am a die-hard Phillies fan, and I'm with you!  The only team I will cheer for other than the Phils are the Red Sox and that's only because I loathe the Yankees!

  • I could not root for another team, ever.  I know more people that do it with football than baseball and I don't get it.

The only case that makes sense to me is when someone we know plays for a team other than the Yankees.  I will root for his current team unless they are playing the Yankees, then all bets are off.

  • And ND, imagine this...I feel the same way about Boston.  I will root for the Yankees or against the Red Sox.  My husband is a die hard Red Sox fan, it's fun at our house toward the play offs!

Oh man!  I'm sure he's pretty miserable right now.

  • For the record though, as soon as Sweet Lou retires I will probably go right back to loathing the Cubs.

Ugh, I know! I don't understand it. Yesterday I posted about the Phillies and good season see you in the spring and one of my pals clogged it up with 27! written 500 times. I would understand gloating like that if I did that at all during the series (I didn't) it's just rude.

That's ok...I feel the same way about the Yankees and was totally rooting for Philly just to root against the Yankees.
