Guess those Philly Nesties won't be coming back here to gloat. As a Sox fan, I had to root against the Yankees on principle, but it was kind of painful this year as I found that oddly enough, the Phillies fans were more obnoxious than the Yankees fans.
Congrats to you Yanks fans...and as for us Boston supporters, we go back to our good ol' standby..."There's always next year!!!"
Re: Hmm...
LOL. Go Yankees! It's funny you say Phillies fans are more obnoxious than Yankees fans. I was born in MA and grew up hating the Red Sox because the fans I knew and saw were just horrible. I'll never forget the Yanks/Red Sox game I went to where I saw a little boy was almost pushed over the upper tier at the old Yankee Stadium b/c a Red Sox fan (an adult, no less) was trying to start a fight with Yankees fans. The only thing that saved that little boy was his father grabbing his coat. Craziness!
I have to admit, though, that Fenway park is a good time. I love the history there.
I think all fans can be obnoxious...unfortunately rivalries are just part of the game.
Like OP, I hate to see the Yankees win, but you're right - there's always next year for our Sox!

theres always next year for someone else to win!
i grew up in a Mets house, my dad would always tell us "I raised you right, youre not to be a Yankees fan. I understand the Mets are terrible, so you dont have to root for them, but just dont root for the Yankees." :-)
btw, my dad has also never forgiven the Dodgers for leaving BRooklyn- thats who he was a fan of first!
i like the idea of the cubs- someone different
i could root for my aunt's team, the colorado rockies- they havent even gotten to win one yet!
