Never thought I would hear myself say this
But there was something missing without Mr Steinbrenner there to talk!
Re: Never thought I would hear myself say this
He talks, too?! I thought he just signed checks!
Sorry mlm, I couldn't help myself!
That's why it's odd that I missed him, most Yankee fans don't like him either! I kept looking for a blue blazer and white turtle neck.
I look at it a little different (of course). I say good for the Yankees for putting all that money back into the team. I would be po'd if I was rooting for a team that never spent a dime. And let's face it, a lot of teams are making a lot of money off the Yankees themselves based on luxury tax revenues!
I'm just glad they were actually good, watchable games. I hate to see a team run away with it, it's so uninteresting. Every team has an off day, it's all a matter of when they hit them.
Hey, I can't say anything, the Phillies have the #7 payroll in the league and the series was winable for the them. I'm not saying the series was bought, because the Phillies certainly didn't play to their potential.
Honestly, the only thing that I will say is that this is #27 for the Yankees. If their payroll keeps being a bottomless pit, I do think that it's going to come to a point where it stops being a competition. Though there is always young talent and hopefully it won't get to that point.
Being a Yankees fan, though, I do have a question. What do you think of ARod's salary? Do you think it's justified by his performance?
I hate A Rod. I think his salary is ridiculous, and he is not a team player, no matter what he tried to portray this year.
I guess it is possible that his ex wife was such a complete shrew that he couldn't get out of his own way, but I don't buy it.
Seeing him win his first WS last night was right up there with watching Wade Boggs ride a horse around the infield.
I really feel like it's hit or miss with him among Yankees fans. I absolutely dispise him, myself. I think his salary is completely outrageous and his performance doesn't validate what he's being paid. It's all about him him him, all the time. He's such an attention whorre, I'm wouldn't be shocked if he doesn't leak his whereabouts to the tabloids all the time. I honestly believe that him and Kate Hudson are just using each other for the media attention.
I really don't think that his ex-wife has anything to do with his performance in the past. Though I woulnd't put it past him to blame her. ARod take responsibility for himself?! Never! Maybe it was all of those STI's he got from sleeping around on his wife?
Watching him get a WS ring was probably the hardest part of this series for me. What a priick. I am glad that him and Jeter aren't friends anymore. Jeter at least has class and is a team player. No wonder they don't get along.
...I could really go on for days...
