Defrosting Wedding Cake

Hi ladies.  My one year anniversary with DH is on Sunday and we're going to try the wedding cake.  Any tips on how to defrost the cake?

Re: Defrosting Wedding Cake

  • Move it to the fridge now.  The morning of the day you plan to eat it set it on the counter do it can get to room temp.

My baker told me to do it tha way and the cake was GREAT! She said you have to gradually defrost the cake so it wasn't "shocked."

  • We took ours out about 3 or 5 days before our anniversary and put it in the fridge to defrost.

Ditto YouAreMyILoveYou about leaving it out the day of.

    Happy early Anniversary!

  • Thanks ladies.  I'll put it in the fridge today.  Sounds like I might be a bit late on the process!
  • I think I just left mine in the refridgerator for a few days and it was fine.
