Dear IT helpdesk,
If you don't know the answer to a question, please just admit it instead of telling me that I need to downgrade my software. Yes, I realize that much of our programs are outdated, but telling people that they have to downgrade as a solution to every problem is very poor customer service.

Re: IT Dept Vent
I'm going to stick up for IT on this one because I am IT....
We often need to downgrade software that you have if it is not compatible with other software you may be working with. I know its frustrating, but sometimes thats the only answer.
For my IT vent, I'm going to vent on users. (I'm not getting snarky, promise). I cant stand it when we have users that think restarting their PC is turning the monitor off and then back on, or if they call and we say did you reboot they say "Thats what you always tell us to do", Well maybe theres a reason, does it usualy work after you do so?
I could go on and on. I understand your frustration, but sometimes there are reasons that you get an answer that doesnt seem to make sense to you will make sense to them because they have a lot more access to things you do .
TTC Since March 2010
DX: Ovulation Disfunction DH:low volume, but good
3 clomid cycles (50MG - 150 MG): No Response
Femara (5MG) 2/2012: Weak ovulation BFN
Femara (5MG) 3/2012: BFP!!!!
Oh yea, I don't doubt that there are idiots out there who don't even know what restarting is. And yes, a lot of times that does help.
I just get frustrated because there have been several times I've been forced to downgrade software even though I know for a fact it wasn't the real solution to my issue. In fact, in this exact instance I was told by one person that the software I was trying to use would not not NOT work within IE8 even though I was successfully using it on more than one computer AND the person who is responsible for that particular sofware even told me it doesn't make a difference. They really just didn't have the answer and instead of admitting it they tried to get me to downgrade on my personal computer.
Eh. IE is a POS anyway.
