Where to preserve/box a very large wedding dress?

Hi from an old knottie!

I had my wedding dress cleaned, but every cleaners I have taken the dress to says that they cannot box/preserve my dress because it's too big.  It's a very full gown (Kenneth Pool "Aria"), and I am having a very hard time locating a service with the facilities to accommodate properly preserving such a full bodied gown.  I'm currently in central/northeast CT, but am willing to drive a decent distance to get this taken care of.  Any ideas or recommendations?

 TIA!

  • Hi Jenn.  You can try Restoration Labs in Orange.  The woman who runs it used to work restoring pieces for a museum so I would think she would have some suggestion about how to go about preserving it properly.  I would try calling and see what she has to say.
  • Just wear your dress everyday..no need to preserve.
