Hi Ladies - I am new to the DFW area, my Fiance and I moved here from NY in June. Loving the area thus far and planning our wedding in MI, where I am from. But I have a not fun first question for you!
I am hoping you can help me, on Friday night, my Fiance and I went to a travel pitch, we were promised 2 free round trip air tickets so figured whatever we will go and not buy whatever they have to sell. So, we went, they offer a travel club membership for significant discounts off of regular travel prices. They stated they were #4 on better business, only dealt with referrals, and had great prices and savings based on the sheets they showed us. And we fell for it....so they started at $9000 and ended up offering us the travel club membership for $2600. We paid with my visa CC. Well upon coming home and doing some research, yes I know this should have been done first! We found out the company is a fraud. They are rated a F on better business bureau, have hundreds of lawsuits, many many unhappy customers and basically no travel discounts to offer.
I have contacted my back to get Visa to deny the charges with no luck since I did sign for it. They state it is nearly impossible to provide it is not a delivered service. We have filled with the better business bureau. And we have sent certified letters to both their Dallas and Missouri offices to cancel our membership. Lastly, I have contacted them with no success they state the contract states no cancellations.
Does anyone have any recommendations? And do you have a lawyer you recommend...as mentioned we are new to the area so have no idea. Thanks in advance!!
