Re: **Tell Us Tuesday**

  • I still have the little teddy bear that was given to me the day I was born, and the best part is that it barely looks worn.

My favorite stuffed animal was Snuggles....I took him EVERYWHERE.

  • My cabbage patch doll.  Her name is Meggie, and yes I still have her!
  • My great aunt made me a blanket when I was born, and I also got a Koala bear at the hospital.  I still have both and they both look beat up and have holes.  I put them in a drawer in our guest room, so people don't have to see it.

    I should just toss them

  • Sadly most of my stuffed animals scared me at night and I would put them in a drawer in our dining room cabinet. I did the same thing with my cabbage patch dolls and barbies too.

I did play barbies I think longer than most little girls (but I will admit their lives pretty much mirrored soap operas).

  • It was a white stuffed animal I named Snowflake. I held him around his neck under the crook of my arm so much that he had to have his head sewn back on a few times by my mom! We call it "having surgery". I ::think:: I still have him... makes me want to go look!

  • I don't know if you guys would remember Dozy, the talking doll that you would put cassettes in his back and his lips would light up and tell you stories. He had a huge hard head with light blue pj's....I loved that thing....I still have it! It's in my basement!!!!

I don't remember Dozy, but I had Crickett!  Basically the same thing.  We just sold Crickett in our garage sale this year.  I opened her box to make sure she was in there before the lady took her home, and I got really confused.  When I looked in the box, it looked like she was covered with something.  I pulled her out and she was covered in a light colored pillowcase and had something tied around her neck.  I think she was supposed to be a ghost....  LOL!

Never heard of him, but he sounds a lot like Teddy Ruxpin.

  • I had a blanket that I had to take EVERYWHERE!! I still have it up in my closet, although there's barely anything left of it. I didn't really get attached to any stuffed animals.

  • My Winnie the Pooh that my great-grandmother hand made for me.  When I was little I loved Winnie the Pooh and I am old enough that his stuff wasn't so commonly found when I was little. So my great-grandmother sewed one for me.  I love that thing and I still have it.  His nose is a little chewed off, but otherwise he is in great shape.

  • Strawberry Shortcake doll. Had her since I was a baby and slept with her every night til college. By the time I was done with her, her face was worn off, her legs were pinned on and everything was torn... I got offended when people called her Raggedy Ann... She's raggedy Strawberry Shortcake! Yes, I think I still have the pieces in the closet at my parents' house... just couldn't bear to throw her away.
  • I had a grey pound purry that I named Flowers ... I still have her, and the little baby pound purry that was grey striped that I called her daughter, and named Daisy.

    Vacation
  • I had a pound puppie that I slept with for YEARS.  the floppy ears had stains on them because any time I cried, I used the ears to wipe my eyes.  I had this until I was 20, and then it was burned in an apartment fire.  I am still sad about this.

I have a dozzzy doll too!! And he lives in my basement. He's missing an arm now but I still have the tape that went with him. He was really creepy! Had a Barney-esque voice and the other side of the tape, he told stories. I think Jack and the beanstalk and Hansel and Gretel. I loved him so much!! He looks rough now but I could never part with him!!
