DH got passed up for a promotion today- lost it to the lady who threatened to quit and is a royal B*tch, so now everyone in his department is talking about quitting if she becomes their supervisor.
Why is it that companies think just because its a bad economy they can treat their employees like poop?
End rant.
Thank you for listening- feel free to post your "seriously"
Re: Seriously?
Well, mine is along the same lines as yours--
dh was told he would be promoted within a year of his hire date--which came and went in Sept. His boss brought on a new 'in-between them boss' so they didn't have enough money in the budget (supposedly). Then dh finds out they are actually bringing someone on in the position dh was supposed to get, but had no money for! wha?! All three of the 'bosses' have known each other for along time. Good ol' boys network? Idk. He's really upset He feels like he put in all these extra hours for nada. He tried to talk to his boss and they directed him to talk to his new boss (that he just met today!)-so many bosses does that make sense? It was like saying, we do not care how you feel or what you have to say. Oh and they're merging with another company so they are going to have to let peeps go...Is this the writing on the wall?
And on another (up?) note, we got the vegas job offer! Yikes! The kicker?! It's less money than he's making now-another-wha!?
Sorry that was a little long. Any thoughts? What would you tell your dh to do?
What I told DH: "You're the only one looking out for your best interest. Whatever you decide, I support".
Of course my support didn't = moving to another place
Yikes... sounds like both of your DH's are in a crappy place right now!!! I hope they both can figure things out...
Shelly... do you think DH would be happier in Vegas? I guess you guys have to figure out if you could make it work there. I am not sure how different the COL is up that way but it's got to be pretty close? Like you said, where they are talking about layoffs, maybe this offer is a blessing in disguise. How long do you have before you have to give an answer?
ETA: Can your DH counter with another salary offer?
