C-Mas Party Possibilities
My hubby and I are thinking about having a Christmas party for a bunch of our friends (we are all in our mid-20's) but I'm not sure what type of things to do????
I want to have some food (small not a meal) and drinks but what else can we do? I don't want everyone to be bored but I don't want to have a bunch of kiddie games. Any suggestions will be welcome!

Thinking of doing cosmetic updates to a dated home? These were our costs.
Most Christmas parties that I've been to cater to adults and the kids stay home. With that in mind, it's all about cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. So long as alcohol is flowing, people will not get bored.
If you wanted to do something smaller, you could decorate cookies to send out to soldiers overseas or a nursing home. That's for a much smaller crowd, though, and has a completely different vibe from a Christmas party.
Keep it easy...last year we served homeade shredded chicken salad sandwiches on buns with toppings, mashed potatoe casserole and several appetizers (cheese/crackers, marinara/mozzarella dip, and a few others). Instead of stocking a bar full of items we made two "signature drinks" a pomegrante martini and a peppermint martini.
We also set-up our WII with rock band in the garage...the guys played until almost 1 in the morning.
I hope this helps.
White elephant gifts are funny (find stuff around your house! No need to purchase anything).
Make it a themed party. Stockings and Pajamas, Holiday Sweater, Retro Ski Lodge, Dr Seuss Whoville..so many fun themes. Looking at people's costumes is half the fun.
Tree decorating, caroling (ha!), decorate cookies, bring presents to donate to local charities, cookie exchange. Or just sit around, chat, listen to holilday songs to get into the spirit.
