BR: Bad day for me too! :(

Everything was going great... Went to my mom's group and then to lunch. Alexa was in her Moby and sound asleep. Then we got back to the car and as I was unwrapping the Moby.......

POO! STINKY BABY POO! ALL OVER!

All over the Moby... All over my shirt under the Moby... All over her onesie and baby legs and socks... Then it started getting all over my hands, and all over everything I touched...

And then...

I realized that despite packing a clean onesie.... I freakin forgot to pack WIPES. I have like 4 travel wipe cases but somehow got out the door today without ONE of them.

I also forgot my phone, I guess it was one of those mornings. Luckily, another mom from my group hadn't let and came to the rescue with extra wipes. We went straight home and she was hysterical.

I just bfed her and she is finally calm. I now need to go clean all the soiled clothes and shower and wash her up....... ARGH.

Needless to say, I cancelled my afternoon plans to visit my friend and her new baby and will probably cancel my dinner plans with the girls too. I feel so icky and distraught. :-(

  • I'm sorry you are having one of "those" days. Brooke crapped herself when we were out fixing a SS card mishap and we brought diapers and wipes ... and no clean onesie. We ended up putting her in her carseat with just a diaper on and walking around Carter's onesie-less until we bought one.

I hope your Moby wrap can be saved!! And I hope you have a better day tomorrow :)

Has Alexa's eyes changed color yet, or are they still blue/grey? Brooke's are changing slowly...

  • Awwwww Malia I'm so sorry that's sounds like an awful experience. I hear the gnarliest poopy stories from my friends. You just added to the list. I hope your able to shake it off and decide to go out for dinner anyway. A glass of wine my just be what you need. In any event I hope tomorrow is a better day.

  • This is what I'm afraid of.  Stick out tongue

I'm so sorry you and Alexa didn't have a good day.  I'm glad that other mom was able to help you two out.  Hope you have a better day tomorrow!

  • Poor Alexa and poor you!
  • Oh Malia, thank god one of your friends had wipes!

I hope that once you get showered you start to feel better!

  • Oh Malia, that's bad!  I am sorry that happened.  Guess it's bound to, at some point.  Years from now, I am sure you'll look back and laugh at it.  But today?  I know it's just not funny!

From here on out, I recommend keeping some wipes stashed in your car too.

  • oh no!!! I am sorry you had to have such a major blowout, while you were away from home nonetheless!  I agree w/Lori that this will be a good laugh down the road but I know today it probably just plain old sucked.  tomorrow will be better :)
  • Aww. that is not fun. I think styaing home and curling up to feel better about the day may be just what you need.
  • That sucks!  I once changed Ashton in a public restroom (which was a poop diaper) and went to reach for another diaper...NONE!!  I remember seeing a baby outside so I had my mom run outside and beg for a diaper. I look back and laugh.  You will totally look back at this and get a good laugh.

THIS is a must. I have like 5 travel wipe cases so why are they all up in the nursery and not in the car and in ever bag we own? Argh. Live and learn.

Thanks all... Wine sounds like a good idea. I am still trying to clean everything and distribute said wipe cases but it's slow going because Alexa is either hungry or distraught so I have not been able to get much done. I did get a shower in tho, so at least I feel better. :-/

  • That sucks.  Hope you feel better soon.

I agree that one day you'll look back and laugh.  But for now, wine sounds fantastic!  (Actually, what I wouldn't give for a Fat Tire some days!  3 more months!)

  • Oh no! I'm so sorry that happened. I'm glad you got wipes from the other mom though--that was probably quite a lifesaver in the midst of the crisis. Yeah, I've heard from MH's friends who are fathers (I guess women don't share poop stories as much?) that having a baby is all about poop. After having two puppies back-to-back (which is also all poop and pee), I hope it has prepared us more for what's to come...

  • Oh no!! That's awful! I swear we always for get something when we leave the house! I can check the diaper bag a million times before we go and then once we're out I think "oh $hit I forgot X!" It always happens to us... thankfully we haven't had a major blowout like that - yet! Good thing you can just toss it all in the wash.

We LOVE our moby and I could totally see something like that happening. Today my goal is to convince DH I need a babyhawk too :)
