Our interior doors bug me. They are just plain doors and look so blah. I've been needing to paint them, I haven't since we moved in because I just wasn't sure if I would buy new ones or what. After reading some DIY blogs, I decided to do faux panels, and James won't be home till this evening so I have nobody to share them with! I'll put the pictures of the completed painted project on FB this evening after he gets home with the paintbrush.
Here's the door before:
And here is after (before painting white to match the trim):
What do ya'll think? I used the bathroom door in our master bedroom as the guinea pig in case it looks awful. Think it'll look good on the bedroom doors (the side in the hallway) and the main bathroom door?

Re: so I have to share with someone!
I really like it, but I would make the boxes a little bigger. It looks like your doors are probably skinny doors, but I would make the boxes a little wider. I like how it adds a little something without being over the top.
yeah I agree they need to be wider. I'm horrible at measurements, DH is always making fun of me for that. I think he was kind of scared that I was doing this at home without him to help!
But once it's all painted white, I think it'll be just right, and subtle!
I think that is going to look great! You could also do two next to each other to make it look wider if you wanted to. Our doors are like that.
Either way I think it definitely spruces up the door! I can't wait to see the finished product.
