adoption gift ideas?!?!

Hello All!  My friend and her husband recently adopted a baby from China - she actually just turned 2.  What would be a nice gift for the little one?  I would like it to be suitable for a toddler, but yet somethine special also.  I appreciate any suggestions.  Thanks!

I always like classic toys that they may choose to keep like a nice set of wooden blocks. Kids play with those for years and I know I plan on keeping those for my son's kids one day. A wagon may be a nice gift.....my son got that for his 2nd birthday and we will use that for years.

My daughter got an engraved snowglobe when she was born & I love it.  Now that she's a little older, 19 months, she loves to sit with me and listen to the music & watch it.

I recently bought this gift for an adoptive family. It is perfect for 2years and up. The short story is written one sentence per page, with great pictures,and it very touching I got a little teary eyed.
