sandwiches...
We are hosting a Christmas party with some of our friends at the beginning of December. We are providing sandwiches and a signature drink. We have asked everyone to bring their favorite appetizer or desser (along with copies of the recipe so we all have some new ideas for the holiday season).
Last year we made homeade shredded chicken...it went like hot cakes. Any other ideas? We would prefer something crockpot friendly since more than likely people will be eating from it most of the night.

I don't have a specific recipe but I think french dip sandwiches would fit your description and be a satisfying holiday sandwich.
A Google search for "crock pot french dip" turned up quite a few recipes so you have some good options to sift through.
