Need help with surprise b-day party...

I'm planning a surprise birthday party for DH and need help. I've invited our friends, family, co-workers and neighbors to the party, so there will be a wide age range. Do I need to have some sort of music and if so, is the radio okay to play in the background or should I get a few CD's to have play continously? I plan for folks to mingle but wasn't sure if I should plan to have some type of background music. TIA

Re: Need help with surprise b-day party...

  • YES!!!  I HATE going to party that have nothing playing in the background, i find it VERY awkward!

either get cd's or....better yet....do you have an ipod and speaker or know someone who does? borrow it and use that so that you don't have to keep changing cd's ...or put the tv on a 'music only station"

  • We have music stations on our TV and use those when we have parties.  There is a wide variety of stations and you can always mix it up during the party.
  • I am throwing a surprise b-day party for my younger brother who will be 18.  We also have music stations on the T.V. and what I decided to do was play the station from the decade he was born which is 90's...so all music from the 90's will be playing.  That is an idea, or there is a party music channel that you can put on.
