Open Letter Time

Join in if something is bothering you...

Dear Navy,

Could you please tell us if DH will be deploying in January or if we'll be moving to NY then?  We have a house to sell, a job to find for me, and more to deal with for this move.  Having a timeline and official word on what is going on would be nice.  Either way, right now we're talking less than 2 months notice...with the holidays thrown in for good measure.

Kthanxbye,

Navy Wife

Dear My Work,

I'm sorry my husbands work isn't giving us a timeline as to when I will be moving.  I know its hard to plan things when you don't know if one of the players will be around.  That said, handing off responsibility I've been assigned without telling me is rude.  If you want someone else to take things over, thats fine.  Its a giant slap in the face, but I understand your desire for continuity.  When you don't tell me and then I contact a client bc I think I'm the point of contact (POC) for the project...it makes us all look like fools if another coworker is also contacting her.  This client likes one POC, could we pick one person and stick with it?  Again, sorry for the ambiguity that my husbands job is pulling on us.  It sucks for me too not knowing if I'll be leaving in January or July.

Signed,

Annoyed Employee

  • Dear Pumpkin Pie,

Please stop with your deliciousness. You are not helping my ever-expanding waistline and thunder thighs.

    Dear Colleagues,

Please consume the pumpkin pie I brought in so that I am not tempted to eat it.

    Dear Self-Control,

Hai!!! Where have you been for the past six months? I miss you!

Dear 13lbs I have gained since June -

LEAVE!  Don't come back.  I'm sorry I over indulged in booze this summer.

  • Dear Mofe,

I am so proud of you for getting out of bed, even though you were really tired and going swimming! It's a great workout and let's face it, you need it.  Please continue to swim and lift weights and I promise I'll show you the results soon.

    love,

    your body

I'm stealing this letter and replacing swim with spin.

  • Dear aunt-in-law that just stopped by unannounced,

Yes our house isn't spotless.  No, we don't spend every waking moment like SOME people I know.  Get over it.  We've been out of town practically every weekend and we're dealing with sick people.

Oh, and P.S. - Yes, our dog sh*ts in the floor occasionally when we're dog sitting and the stupid dog won't let her get her business done outside.  That doesn't mean she isn't potty trained or that we don't clean it up, we just happened to both be upstairs when it happened and you rang the doorbell.

But, per the norm...go ahead and spread gossip to the entire family that our house is filthy and we let the dog sh*t in the floor and don't clean it up...even though you'll be drastically exaggerating and know it's not true.  It's all par for the course with your family.

    K, thanks.

  • Dear self,

Things will get better. Try not to cry at work. Or anytime you talk to one of your aunts. Stop crying! And be strong for everyone else that needs you
