Downtown Indy...suggestions please!

Hey Ladies, FI is looking to take his employees and spouses to dinner before Christmas. He wants to take them downtown, but isn't looking to break the bank.

Any suggestions of a place to go? About 26 adults, looking for somewhere that possibly has a separate room or section to seat us all. I looked into the Ram & Alcatraz. Ram is a little pricey but do able.

TIA!

  • I personally think Rock Bottom handles groups better than Alcatraz, and that the food is better. I believe they also have a room upstairs that can accomidate groups--which I think is nice to the guests can sort of roam around a bit but stay together. How nice of your FI! in this tough economy I know lots of business' eleminating holiday celebrations, but I think it is really great to show appreciation.

  • Milano Inn does a great job at family style dinners pretty reasonably priced.  Several friends have hosted events there with nice results.  They have a few rooms that can handle a party of that size.  The last time I was there for a party, she had ordered spaghetti and meatballs, fetticini(sp?), chicken parm, lasagna as entrees for every table as well appetizer sampler platters and salads for each table.  (There might have been a few more entree choices I don't remember)  Not a fan of Alcatraz at all!  My husband is a chef downtown, but his restaurant is not super budget friendly.

  • Thank you ladies for the suggestions!!!  I have never heard of the Milano Inn, but I will have to look into it.

He wants to take out his employees and spouses, so there will be about 20-25 of us.  And looking to spend about $20/person.  If you have any other suggestions they are appreciated.

RAM has nothing avail. the date we are looking at.....I am not a fan of Alcatraz either, but FI is.....Rock Bottom has a good menu in our price range & I spoke with Buca, who is pricier then I thought they would be.

  • There's also Old Spaghetti Factory which has a great atmosphere (not sure about a private room), it looks like part of an old train station.  It's really unique. Jillian's, where the adults can play arcade games, I believe after 9 it's adult only 21 and older.  Both places are great.  Rock bottom is amazing, and will blow people away.
