breakfast food ideas

We are doing a family breakfast after church. I was thinking a ham I just don't know what to put with it. It will be the first Sunday in December so I would like to still do some fall type of stuff, maybe pumpkin/apple. Any ideas? Thanks

Re: breakfast food ideas

  • Your Riley is a doll! I have a Riley too...love it.

I love making this Orange Pecan French Toast.
You assemble the night before, take it out of the fridge about 20-30 min before you pop it in the oven.

These breakfast potatoes hit the spot.

You could make this yogurt cream (TO DIE FOR) and serve with fall fruits like apples or sliced fresh pears.

  • Pumpkin Brown-Butter Cupcakes

These aren't too sweet and are more like a breakfast bread.

In addition, I would do buttermilk biscuits, eggs benedict, or things that can be mostly made in advance.  For eggs benedict, you can poach your eggs until they're 75% done, then transfer to an ice bath.  Right before serving, stick them in simmering water to finish the cooking (will take about 1 minute).

  • ham

    spinach and swiss frittata

    pumpkin bread/scones

fresh fruit - berries, apples, pears

    mimosas

  • I just did a brunch for some co-workers and wanted easy items that wouldn't take me away from my guests (for the most part).  I served mini fritatas with proscuitto and romano cheese (made in mini muffin tins), pumpkin cranberry and banana blueberry breads (made ahead of time), orange cranberry scones (made the night before and baked the morning of), and roasted red potatoes with some yellow peppers.  I had coffee, an assortment of teas (they drink teas), and mimosas.  Oh, there was fresh fruit, too.
