I am now considered Vitamin D deficient

So what's up with that?  I had some bloodwork done this week and since my mom was recently diagnosed with this I asked my doctor to check my levels.  I am a stellar 37 and she runs at 36....40 is considered normal.  Seriously I eat a ton of cheese and yogurt, drink milk every day and I get enough sun (even with sunblock on).  I am also extremely active as many of you know so I get plenty of the weight bearing exercise you are supposed to get.  I suppose I have to go do some research on this!

Re: I am now considered Vitamin D deficient

  • I just heard somewhere that sunblock can reduce the amt of Vit D that you get....not to mention that it is rapidly becoming a problem for most people anyway.....I just read that most doctors are suggesting that everyone should take a Vit D supplement.

  • Like Nichole, I have also heard that it is very common now & most people would be considered vitamin D deficient.  At least you & Lips aren't too low!

  • Drink more milk!!  ;-)
