back from cali

And I loved it, it was fantastic.

I went there in part to see if I thought I'd like to live there, and I would. So, I'm going to start trying to go that direction. I just need to save some money and get a job and Northen Cali....here I come!

Time for lots of changes in my life =)

But it was awesome, I went to San Fran, Napa, Muir Wood...all sorts of great places. I'm going back in the beg of sept, hopefully I can get some interviews set up.

  • Glad to hear that you had a good time!  I have always wanted to go to N. Cali!!

Do you have a plan in place for when you might want to move or how much you are going to save up before going?  What will you do for a job or place to live?

One coast to the other is a great move but jsut a ton of work.

  • Glad you had a good trip - San Fran is awesome!!
  • Welcome back hon!!!  I missed you..

    I loved CA!!
  • Welcome back. Can't wait to see pictures! Big Smile
  • Katie look at my facebook.

Sassy, I figure I need about 6k in liquid funds in order to move. This would include first/last month rent, moving expenses, furniture, and a buffer. That's if I pay an additional 4k at least in credit cards off. Hopefully more.

I'm in the process of moving out of my house, when I do that, husband is finding a roommate....hopefully sooner than later. I wont have to pay rent as long as I live with my folks, hopefully can save a bunch doing that. I'm also doing some side work too on web design which will give me some additional income for a few more months, and lastly, I have about 10k between my IRA and my profit sharing at work that I'm going to try to liquify. I know I most likely take a hit but it will still be worth it for me to be able to move and stay above water.

I know the area I want to be in....no job lined up yet. When I get one is when I will ultimately move...friend is going to fly out and drive with me over....hook up a uhaul to my jeep and.... there I go.

  • Things won't be the same without you just down the road. But I'm so happy for you. You actually seem happy now. I'm glad you had such a good trip.
  • Wow Britni, good for you! One ballsy woman you are. I'm glad you enjoyed your trip!!
  • Sounds like you have a great plan to move in the "right" direction!  All the best to you.
  • Glad to have you back and hear you had a good time. I love that part of California, I go to San Francisco a couple times a year and like to take a few days to go up to Napa or other places nearby.
  • glad you ahd a great trip!

my sisters friend went out to CA to visit some of her friends out there and 6 mos later she moved out there and LOVES it.

Carryl, when you do come, we'll have to go to napa together =)

My aunt's sister moved there about 13 years ago and never left. She's ending up to be a good resource for me too.

  • Sounds fun. My sister lives in So. Cali. It's very expensive there. Who did you travel with?
