To all former brides

I just recently got engage, and being that I am still looking for venues for our 2011 wedding. I would like to ask you former brides, if you have any recommendations. So far I've look into Westbury CC, nice place, but didn't like their service, they were a little rude. Crest Hollow CC, I LOVE Thomas, great person, beautiful place but didn't like the color of the carpet... Any other places I should look into in Nassau or Suffolk County?

Thanks

  • We just got married at Flowerfield in St. James and could not have been happier!! It was absolutely incredible and even better than we could have imagined.  Ask for Ellen if you call there, she delt with us and was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! The food is incredible, the room looked beautiful, the service was fabulous! We don't have one bad thing to say about it! Hope you find something great, and congrats on being engaged!

  • I got married 3 months ago at The East Wind  in Wading River, beautiful place, excellent food and service!! Great prices! You get alot for your money! I had my reception at the Country Gardens part, secluded botanical garden to die for! but there are two other rooms the North/ South Hampton in the big main building in the Inn and the Estate the biggest room holds up to 1200 people.  All are gorgeous.  If you go there Cathleen is the matre D at the Country gardens and comes highly recomended.  John was our booker he is great as well.  I also heard the Fox Hollow wasn't bad, they had good food!   If your looking for Prices and capacities for each and every place in Nassau, Suffolk, even the city, pick up a "Contemporary Bride NEW YORK" magazine it has every venue in it.  Good Luck and Happy Planning!
  • I got married in September (88 days ago, according to my Nest profile!) at the Metropolitan in Glen Cove and it was AMAZING!  I cannot say enough good things about it -- the food, the service, the elegance, the price -- it was all beyond my expectations!

    Good luck and congrats!

  • I got married at Flowerfield last January and also highly recommend it. My guests are still talking about how great the food and service were!
  • i just got married 3 weeks ago at Jericho Terrace on a saturday afternoon, and it was AMAZING. they decorated for christmas and everything it was beautiful i could not have asked for a better wedding even with a million dollar budget! I did it all for under $15,000
  • we got married 1/8/10 at westbury manor. we LOVED it! the food was amazing, the service was amazing, i have no complaints. the night was perfect. we got a ton of phone calls the next day tellng us how much fun everyone had and how great the food and service was. good luck!

  • I got married last year at the new Allegria in Long Beach. Although the place is new and spectacular, the staff and service was terrible through the entire process!! Stay away!! They added so much un needed stress to my wedding planning and "special day".
  • My brother is getting married this May at The Inn at New Hyde Park. It has been completely renovated and looks beautiful. I was there for a baby shower.

  • I second the Westbury Manor- we got married 2 weeks ago and for 2 weeks we have gotten non-stop raves from everything from food to service to decor etc etc.  You can also try using theknot.com for help planning. good luck!
  • My husband and I were married at the Westbury Manor in October and it was elegance and class ALL THE WAY!!!!!  They treated DH and I like royalty the second we stepped out of the limo. The entire night we had our own personal attendant to help us with everything we needed, always making sure we had food, drinks, and most importantly- enjoying our wedding.  Our guests had a wonderful time, they are still commenting on the food, the service and the entire night.  You won't regret having the most important day of your life there, I promise you!!  Congratulations and enjoy this special time!!
  • Hello there!  I just got married 6 months ago at the Chelsea Mansion in East Norwich (bordering Muttontown) on the Muttontown preserve.  This is a historic Gold Coast Mansion that was built in 1924 and sits on a 550 acre preserve.  It was totally different and unbelievable, my guests are still raving about it.  If you are interested go to www.ChelseaMansion.com.  If you decide to call ask to speak with Michael and tell him Lisa Sparkles sent you!  Good luck and I hope yo get everything you are looking for!
  • We got married last year at the Smithtown Country Club, owned by Lessings.

It was great! They made our day perfect!! Resonable prices and great service.

  • My husband and I got married in October at the Royalton in Roslyn.  It was fantastic!  Since we got married in the fall, we wanted a mansion for a homey/cozy feel.  The moldings, woodwork, and fireplaces completely sold us.

They only do 1 wedding at a time and the service was amazing.  You get to customize your menu and they offered more food options than any other place we visited.  Mike T helped us along the way and anything we wanted, he made happen.  It's a beautiful place and I loved how we were able to stay over and had butler service the next day.  He served us breakfast in bed and brought all of our stuff out to the car.

I can't rave about the Royalton enough!

  • Congrats!!!! How exciting for you!

My hubby and I went against the typical Long Island wedding and we had a small gathering of family and close friends at 21 Main in West Sayville and everyone that was there still raves that it was the perfect wedding (I'll stop bragging now LOL!) Like I said we went very non-long island for that though, we only had 70 people.

My little sister is getting married in 2 years and they are having it at the Watermill, which is an amazingly beautiful location if you're going to go big. The food is very good (we've already been to 2 bridal shows there) and it's not expensive at all per plate. The grounds are also very beautiful if you're planning on getting married in the spring/summer months Big Smile

     Good luck with your planning!
