lisa-

i just read your pregosaur post about allergies-and i am so so sorry that you are suffering like this.  I have allergies too so I completely understand how cruddy you are feeling right now.  unfortuntaly i cannot even take allergy medications because my system cannot toleate them-so I thought i would throw some suggestions your way.  1.  accupuncture-my face used to get so swollen and distended and the pressure buildup was beyond painful-for some reason accupuncture was very helpful and very effective with these symptoms-perhaps something that you want to explore.  food allergies-i had a dr do testing for food allergies-apparently you can have allergies to things and not even realize it-apparently i am allergic to dairy but my ent also told me that dairy creates mucus which exacerbates allergies even more-since i cut dairy out of my diet my allergies have been significantly improved-i have also cut out wheat, gluten and mucus producing foods-seems to help a lot-so i know those sound like draconian measures but perhaps something that you may want to give a go or experiment with during allergy season-wishing you sneeze free healthy vibes.  oh and by the way my hubby will need sinus surgery due to some congenital problem in his sinuses so he too has been suffering from allergies and sinus infections.....boo to allergies...feel better soon

  • Thank you soooooooooo much for the suggestions Alix! A friend here had suggested acupuncture to me as well, so I might give it a shot. I vaguely recall hearing that there is an allergy specialist (specifically in food) somewhere in my area - maybe not my town, but the next one over? - so if the acupuncture doesn't help, I might try contacting them.
