hi ladies- h & i are in the process of searching for our first home. currently, we reside in camden county and i love it, i think. now that our realtor is sending us homes 'within our price range' in the same area, i'm beginning to question whether or not i want to spend a fortune on a location vs. house. this got me to thinking about homes a little further south. thing is, i work in phl and ride the patco each morning and i can't imagine doing the whole 42 north in the morning thing....been there, done that....i grew up and lived in williamstown until early 20s, however, you get so much more for your money! i did a quick search on mullica hill and you get so much more home for your money- i don't really know what my point is- just more or less expressing my thoughts- does anyone have thoughts on mullica hill? also, has anyone faced a similar conflict?
Re: mullica hill
We actually live in Mullica Hill and really like it here. The commute is Philly and Wilmington is easy and you do get a lot of house for the money (and the property taxes to go with it) The schools are also very good.
Good luck with your search!
Agreed - the shore traffic is ridiculous on Saturdays. We live in a development just off 322 and can mostly use back roads on the weekends around the traffic
I faced the same problem this time last year. We ended up moving to Williamstown. We got much more land and house for the money, plus our taxes are about $3k lower than the ones we were looking at in Camden County (which is great for about a quarter acre more land and a bigger house!).
I take PATCO everyday but I get on at the Lindenwold station and take back roads to get there. It takes about an hour to get to work and 1 hr 15 mins to get home.
