Re: Cola Basted Ham?
You're right not to buy a ham - they're *insanely* expensive from Honey Baked/Heavenly. They're so easy to make! If you go in my bio, you'll find the bourbon-brown sugar recipe I used for my fall dinner party.
Cola hams are old school like pp said and very sweet. My crowd is always divided between salty and sweet ham lovers, so the brown sugar-bourbon recipe is a good compromise for my group.

Thinking of doing cosmetic updates to a dated home? These were our costs.
I've never had it with cola, but I've had it with Sprite and it was pretty tasty.
Just pick up a ham at the store and use the packet they give you. It's not Honeybaked, but at $1.49/lb it's still darn tasty.
