I'm an AUNT!!!!

My sisters water broke at 3:30 in the morning and I was there to see the birth of my beautiful niece....She's doing amazing and weighed 5 lbs and 1 oz and was 18 inches long.  They said she looks great and her breathing is great for being born at 33 weeks.

My sister did an amazing job and the labor went SO fast....she pushed 4 times and that was it and baby Mia came out screaming   It was the most amazing thing ever!!

Thanks for all the well wishes   It seems I have myself a little flower girl!!

She was only 33 wks and had a 5lb baby? That's great!! Did your niece have to stay in the NICU at all or will she be coming home with your sister?

Thanks!! She's in the NICU...they said she doing really well but they will probably keep her until she hits 34-36 weeks just to monitor her.  I was so nervous about how tiny she would be but when she came out I couldn't believe how healthy and great she looked.

 Luckily when my sister went into early labor on Thursday they gave her steroids to help the babies lungs so I'm sure that really helped b/c she had two shots of it and was monitored the whole time.

Thanks girls!!  We are so happy that she's doing well, it's tough to see her in the NICU and  that my sister has to leave without her but we are hoping she'll be home soon.  She's having a little issue where she forgets to breath for a second and they have to rub her cheak to remind her, they said it has to do with an immature brain and it not reminding her to breath.  Once she goes with no episodes of that for 7 days she can go home..My sister finally got to hold her today and we spent a half our jus staring at her
