Need gift ideas for a 13 and 10 year old girls

I was just going to do Toys R Us but are there any stores that preteens are into these days?

Re: Need gift ideas for a 13 and 10 year old girls

  • My students (ages 12-14) love Aeropostale and Forever 21. They also are really into music (ipods) and love to cook. Maybe you could get an apron and teen cook book with some cute utensils?
  • abercrombie, aero, american eagle... 10 and 13 are a little old for toys I'd say - more of a clothes, accessories, etc. age.

  • You could do board games - the ones for older kids / adults. Scene it, Scattagories, monopoly, etc.

  • When I was that age I liked craft kids like a soap making kit, hemp bracelet kit, etc. I also agree with PP about clothes or accessories from a place like Aeropostale, Old Navy, etc.
  • Justice for Girls would be great for a 10 year old and usually on Black Friday, they put the entire store on BOGO.  My niece is 12 and is now shopping at Wet Seal, Charlotte Rousse and the like.  Of course certain clothing is not appropriate, but most is.  She was very into accessorizing this year.

  • They would probably like itunes gift cards. I'm sure their parents would appreciate it too!
  • I have a 13 year old.  Her favorite stores are Claire's or Icing, Hollister, Aeropastale, Delia's, Forever 21, VS Pink, etc.  She loves getting a new volleyball or basketball, earrings, necklaces, make-up, and nail polish.  You can't go wrong with a bag from VS Pink with furry mocs.
  • Please don't do Toys R Us. At that age they will probably be insulted. I suggest just giving them a VISA gift card instead. That is my 8 year old's favorite thing in the world to get because she can buy whatever she wants with it, and she feels grown paying with her own "credit card."

  •  I agree with PP - but for some different ideas - Are they into anything particular?  My niece is 12 and she is into New Moon and the Twilight Series big time!  I almost can't stand to talk to her lately since the movie is coming out on Friday.  She's over the moon excited - no pun intended!  But anyway - she's all New Moon this - New Moon that.  Then I remember the goofy stuff that I was into at that age and realize that most likely this is just one of those things that is important to her.  So I just shut up and listen.  I know she'd love something having to do with the movie or the series, but I know my sis is getting that for her.

Other ideas would be like - "a day of beauty".  Take them for a manicure or something.  Girls around that age just love to get all dolled up - anything that makes them feel 'older'.
