Re: How was your weekend?
The weekend had its ups and downs. Saturday K and I picked out the glider we would like for the nursery and my parents bought it for us as a gift. We also went to BRU and looked at some baby stuff. It was a great day, until I called my mom and she told me they had to put my cat to sleep. I left my cat with them when I moved to NY because K is allergic. The cat had become my (retired) dad's best buddy. My mom said she in their 34 years of marriage she has never seen my dad cry as much as he has over this cat.
It makes me so sad to think about my parents sad. My mom was crying on the phone and I felt just awful.
Sunday K and I went to a friend's baby shower. We both really enjoyed ourselves.
Now it's back to 2 jobs a day and being really tired
We mostly worked in the office... got it all wiped down and two coats of primer! We also bought our paint (HERE... wall color on top, trim color on bottom), so we are really getting there.
Trav also agree to try and take some nice maternity shots of me sometime in the next month or so. Should be interesting.
Maybe I don't have a heightened sense of smell, but I've never smelled any vagina on my pants. -- TSD

Saturday I took the kids to their last sports class of the season and then met a co-worker at an indoor play place. The kids took a short nap and then I took the kids to their friend's birthday party since L felt like she was getting sick and the docs have told her that if she gets sick before the scheduled surgery, they want to do it ASAP (a logistical nightmare for us.) We stayed late and they were hyped up on sugar and exhaustion.
Sunday I took the kids on a long tricycle ride while L worked on cleaning the house (the antibiotics and rest were kicking in.) We went to lunch (why can my children never behave at Famous Dave's BBQ???) We had hired a sitter b/c we were supposed to go see one of L's co-workers perform at the Kennedy Center. However L didn't want to go since she wasn't feeling great and I wasn't interested in going, so we went to see a movie (we saw Precious. Good - but hard to watch.) And why does going to a movie now cost us $70 (damn babysitting)??
The weekend went by in a flash.
Pretty good so far, and it's still in progress! C and I both have today off.
Saturday we went to an open house - a condo that we really really liked. If it's still on the market in a couple of months...
We'll be keeping our eye on that development for sure.
Yesterday we did a little shopping and got our wrapping paper for xmas gifts.
Today we went to the midwife and heard the heartbeat again. We also scheduled our next appoint and big ultrasound for one month from today!!!

it was good. we stayed busy. we got a lot of stuff done at home on friday, then saturday it was beautiful so we went disc golfing with her sister--because how else should you spend your due date, lol! we went out to dinner with her and her gf after and then headed home, where they helped us do a few things that we needed extra hands for (really we needed people who could help me lift a couple of heavy things).
yesterday we worked on some more things around the house. it was crazy, i think her belly seriously dropped about 6 inches over the course of the day. i'm not kidding. i'm hoping that's a good sign! come on, monkey!
Our weekend was good. Jenn and I got about half of our Christmas shopping done. We still have a few people in my family to buy for and each other but we are off to a great start. Christmas always seems to sneak up on us so this year we are ahead of the game. We got our Christmas cards and wrote our annual letter that we stick in the cards. We also managed to get birthday gifts for my niece and my sister.
Tonight is actually my Friday so my weekend starts again in about 24 hours. Tomorrow we'll most likely sleep all day. We typically do on Wednesdays. Then we have plans to clean the house and put up on Christmas decorations. We'll probably also go see my parents. We may or may not go see a movie. Although I really hate working nights sometimes, I love the 4 day weekends!
