Are we doing the book club?

I haven't bought the book yet since I haven't seen a thread that we have a date, place, & time to meet (or did I miss that post?)

I know the book that was picked is Molokai by Alan Brennert

Are we still meeting on 12/17 or wait till January?

What about going to a wine bar? There's a few in River North or Lincoln Park that we could go to.

It's still a go. The meeting details just haven't been finalized.I saw there was some trouble with that Thursday and Wednesday was suggested. So half the responses are saying Thursday works and half are saying Wednesday works. So I'm not quite sure what to do........? I was going to see if Bourgeois or any similar places are BYOB. Do you think that's a good idea, or should we just go for a place that serves alcohol? Third Coast might be a decent option (not sure how loud/busy it is on weeknights though).

Should we do a poll for date and location combinations?  I haven't started reading it yet either.  I was waiting for date confirmation.

If everyone but me can make that Thursday, I don't want to hold up the plans. I really would like to attend, but cant make that date.

mbs- I was thinking about making a poll, but thought that it would just be a split again. 

I want to check with lmb to see if she can make it that Wednesday. 

 

I was thinking the better idea might be a "Can you make it Xday: Yes or No." That way the count won't get split, and we'll know if there's a huge number of people that can't do that specific day.

But I don't want to drag it out too long, either.

How does everyone feel with making it after the new year? That gives us time to read it and get past the holidays.

I would be fine with that. Perhaps a Thursday in January - say the 14th? That way everyone will be recovered from the Holidays?

Now, to find a place. I'm good with a BYOB restaurant or a wine bar. I'm an eater and a drinker! I can go anywhere from downtown to Evanston over to Bucktown/Wicker Park. Someone pick a place & I'll show up.

I am in for January 14th too! Looking forward to it. Some suggestions on where to meet, here are a couple of suggestions; Jack's Wine Bar, Sopranos... I can't think of anything else! I will think about it tomorrow...
