Newbie question

Can I serve spinach dip cold?  I bought it from a deli.  TIA!!

Re: Newbie question

  • I have made and eaten cold spinach dips, but I've actually never made hot spinach dip, so I don't know what's in it to know if the ingredients have to be cooked.  I figure it depends on the particular one you bought - does its tub say anything?  Could you call the deli and ask?

Great idea!!  I'm going to call the deli.  Thanks.

  • It should say on it, if it is a hot dip or cold dip. Sometimes, depending on the cheese that was used to make it, determines if it tastes better hot or cold. If it has alot of cheese, you will want to heat it, otherwise you are going to be getting big clumps of cheese, instead of it being smoothe and creamy. And then if it doesn't have alot of mayo and cheese in it, you can serve it cold.
