Turkey Day: Favorite Foods

What is your favorite food associated with Thanksgiving? It can be the Turkey, the next day left over sandwich, the home made Chex Mix, the cranberry "goo" in a can that comes out the shape of the can.

List your favorites here! And why!

Re: Turkey Day: Favorite Foods

  • My husband deep fries a turkey every year and it is amazing.  Everyone waits for it (we usually have three turkeys at least because he has a HUGE family- he's one of 12).  We all fight over who gets the turkey leg.

Girl, I love to eat... so I like sweet potato pie, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, garlic cheese mashed potatoes, sweet rolls, stuffing, I could go on and on.  I think you should have asked what our least favorite Thanksgiving foods are because then I would have been stumped!

  • Favorite food is definitely turkey cassarole. We usually have it a few days after Thanksgiving and it is all of the leftover turkey, stuffing (that my family can hide from me), and gravy. I also love stuffing and can't usually get enough of it.

  • Stuffing, for sure! I cannot get enough of that stuff.

I also love the making hot turkey sandwiches with lots of gravy, and leftover turkey on spongy white bread. Mmm... I can't wait!

  • 2 things... mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie!  Not together, obviously, but I would be satisfied with just those 2 things for Thanksgiving!

  • My favorite is home made Chex mix to snack on while dinner is cooking, and sweet potato casserole. We don't usually have the casserole so when we do it's always a treat!

  • I miss having manicotti on T-day.  Maybe that's what I'll bring to DH's family this year.  Favorite foods besides that?  Everything but turkey and meat-products as I'm veggie.
    Matt loves Munkii!!!
  • Without a question... definitely stuffing... and lots of it :)

Oh and pumpkin pie for dessert (and breakfast the next morning!)

  • my mama makes "dressing" which is like stuffing but u dont put it inside the turkey, so its considered dressing. I think its a southern thing. But we cover it in giblet gravy (which has chicken livers in it) and its freakin AMAZING!! i know u prob r like EWWW lol but its soooooooo good

  • Definitely dessert- pecan pie!!  And I love mashed potatoes with homemade turkey gravy. I hate going to DH's parents' house for T-Day cause his mom gets the gravy out of a jar. Yuck. No thank you, I'll just take some pie.
  • Picking at any and all leftovers is my favorite!!!!  I eat far more AFTER dinner by nibbling than I do during dinner.  Smile
  • My grandmothers dressing, her noodles, broccoli & rice casserole.
