Anyone from Decatur?

I feel like I'm in local board limbo looking for ladies who live in my area.

Re: Anyone from Decatur?

  • Welcome!!!

I'm in Local Board limbo too. (Just up in Peoria.) Come join the posting party here... I'm sure I can make room for others to post Wink  I get lonely on the QC board.

So you just got married... how was the honeymoon? Go anywhere exotic?

  • Thanks!

We actually didn't go away on a honeymoon yet.  DH had just started working as an engineer for Caterpillar and neither of us thought he should take tons of time off so soon. We're planning on saving up and going on a really great trip at the end of the year.

However, we just moved to Decatur from central Missouri and don't know anyone here.  Coupled with the fact that we have no family here, life in general is like an extended honeymoon. :)

  • Oops... I just asked where DH worked in another post and now I see the response here. No family for us here either, just about 100 miles away though, so not as far as your family. I have relatives in the Jeff City area of Missouri... going there for Thanksgiving actually! I almost went to CMSU for college (parents are alum), but decided I couldn't do the college thing 1k miles from home at age 17. Who knows how life would have turned out for me if I did!

If you are ever up in Peoria... you'll have to let me know! I've never been to Decatur.

  • That's so funny that you almost went to CMSU (now UCM).  It's 20 minutes from where DH and I grew up!

As it stands right now, we're about 5 1/2 hours from our family. It helps that we went to school an hour and a half from home, so the big move wasn't as difficult on anyone.
