gift ideas for impossible-to-shop-for relatives?
DH's aunt and uncle are impossible to shop for. They have oodles of money and there is no way that we can normally get them anything that they would love or want, so we try to go for practical/thoughtful.
Last year we adopted an olive tree for them (they get the olive oil from it in spring and fall) and they loved it! I don't want to do the same thing again, but we're stumped.
Suggestions? TIA!
Re: gift ideas for impossible-to-shop-for relatives?
Do they have a favorite charity you could contribute to?
Do they garden (plant of the month), drink wine (wine of the month), etc?
Is there a reason you're buying for them at all? The only reason I ask is that I don't think I've gotten an aunt a gift in decades.
Our little Irish rose came to us on March 5, 2010
Don't drink the water.

If they drink I would suggest the doing the wine a month, or beer of the month. They also have things like a different pie delivered each month, or some kind of dessert.
I normally buy something nice at Williams Sonoma for my parents and my aunt and uncle, and I will attach a gift receipt. I like that Williams Sonoma will wrap the gift and then they can send the gift for an additional cost.
Williams Sonoma has a a lot of bread mixes, cookie mixes, and then you can add some nice towels, oven mitt, etc.
I like the Emile Henry bakware, so I am thinking about sending this to my parents (who have everything--their French lake home). I am thinking that this something normally that they would not spend that much money on, but I love this bakeware, and I thought it would be a good gift for my parents, along with some easy gourmet mixes.

For my aunt, I am thinking about getting her a Marseille apron, oven mitt, and potholder. She has a couple of grandchildren. And our side of the family has French heritage, so I thought it would be fun to send her something from Williams Sonoma with a gift receipt.
