I just went to my 24 week appt. and my uterus is measuring at 27 weeks. Has anyone ever experienced this? I am totally freaked out. They want me to come back at 27 weeks for the gestational diabetes testing. I am not having any symptoms for that but I am just freaked. Please someone tell me a positive about this!!!
Re: Uterus measuring big
i wouldn't worry. growth comes in spurts so there is a chance you are having early growth -it could also be a measurement that is somewhat off.
if you do have gd they will put you on a "food diet" -things you can and cannot eat. just follow this and you and baby will be ok. there are much worse things than having gd!

I was measuring big at my 28 week appointment. The dr was not concerned AT ALL. She just measured and said "great!" In fact, she wasn't even going to tell me if I hadn't asked if I was measuring on track. She said it's nothing to worry about at all and if I keep on a pattern of measuring big, they'll just send me for a growth u/s.
GD is not the worst thing. You'll just modify your diet for the next 13 weeks. Don't worry!
The GD test at 27 weeks is standard. IMO if they were that concerned about the possibility of GD causing large baby and thus large uterus they would have had you do one right away (I had one early for a different reason)/
Also, IMO if they were that concerned they would send you for a growth u/s.
A friend IRL has a little one measuring in the 100th percentile and the baby will need to be delivered at least a month early, but even her spirits are still high.
My baby's "official" diagnosis was "cubby" today. Just by feeling him frm the outside they can tell he's a big boy, but my OB isn't worried so I'm not worried.
