Recommend digital photo frame

Please recommend your digital photo frame.
We purchased one for my MIL two years ago when they were much more expensive.  I am planning to get one for my parents this year.  They aren't "high-tech" people, thus don't expect the best.  It will be used in their living room and/or my dad's office most of the time.
TIA!

Re: Recommend digital photo frame

  • I haven't used it (I want one, though), but I know of a neat hassle-free digital photo frame sold by T-Mobile called the Cameo.  There's some more info about it at this link.

Basically, it's your average digital frame, and it only costs $40, but for $2/month to T-Mobile the frame has its own phone number that you can send picture messages to!  Then the picture messages show up on the frame.  Of course, you can use it as a regular digital frame if you'd like, but the ability to add photos from afar means you can keep putting new pictures on your parents' frame without having to teach them how to use it.

I would have gotten it for my parents a while ago, but unfortunately they don't live in an area with T-Mobile coverage, so it wouldn't have been worth it.

    Hope that helps!

ETA: Sorry, I hadn't noticed before that you have to be an existing T-Mobile customer to do it.  So if that's not the case this is out of the question for you.

As an alternative, check out some of the deals Costco has!

  • We've had and given a few Kodak frames.  We gave FIL the quick-touch one this year for his birthday and he loves it - it's very simple to use, which is what we wanted for him (he's also not very tech-savvy).  We almost went out and got one for ourselves after we loaded it up for him.  We have a basic Kodak one from a few years ago that we still love, though.

Geeks has quite a few choices.

The 9" one is only 48$ and has 2$ shipping.

(It is refurbed, but from your post, it sounded like this would be ok.)

    Hope is not a strategy.
