QOTD: With the holidays on the brain, one of my favorites is "Snow Party" by Harriet Ziefert. It's about the winter solstice.
Update: 16 weeks today! Big u/s scheduled for December 14 - we could have gone a week or two earlier, but with C's crazy work/school schedule at the beginning of the month, we didn't want to chance her not being able to come, so the 14th it is. We are so excited, and I cannot wait to hopefully get a clear picture of who is in there!! Also, last night, I for sure was feeling the baby move. I felt some fluttlery things last week that I wasn't 100% sure of, but last night - that was the baby moving, or else I'm a crazy lady. It was really amazing.

Update: Our donor became available again!! We quickly made our purchase and are now good to go for the first iui on or around Dec. 9th.
QOTD: On the Day You Were Born
QOTD - I really don't know. I've started gathering some of the classics but I'm not sure I have a favorite (yet).
Updates - Yesterday K felt the baby kick for the first time! The baby gets really active between 7-9pm which is fun for me, but I'm at work so K doesn't get to feel it. Well late last night she was laying with her head on my tummy and could feel it. It was such a cool moment!
I don't have much of an update. We are just enjoying the girls as much as possible.
QOTD: When I started reading to the girls at bedtime my favorite became Time For Bed. It's so peaceful and sweet. I love it and have to get a new copy since PBS tried to eat the first one, LOL!
Update: Counting down to our try in January. Buying the vials today.
QOTD: Hands down....The Brownstone by Paula Scher. Published in 1973 and now out of print. DW got me a copy in great condition for our anniversary. I.LOVE.IT. She is so amazing for getting it for me!
just waiting! he's slowed significantly since yesterday morning but is still meeting his quota, which is actually a good sign. hopefully i'll have another update very soon!
i'm not sure what my favorite book is. if i had to pick one right now, i think i'd say goodnight moon. i remember reading it all the time with my mom when i was little, so it has a special place in my heart. we've already got a copy to read to the monkey!
Things are status quo in our house. Carter woke at 5:30 this morning and would not go back to sleep - even though I cuddled and tried for 45 minutes. YAWN.
QOTD: Time of Wonder by robert McCloskey is my favorite, I think. There was a time that we had to read it every nap/bedtime for months for the boys to go to sleep. It is a longer book, but so beautifully worded and special to me given that I spent a lot of time in Maine growing up (where his books take place.)
For a more silly book, I love Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. So catchy and fun to read!
We read a LOT in our house. Other favs are Zen Shorts (and Zen Ties), Albert the Bear, The 3 Questions, Peaceful Piggy Meditation, Dr. Suess ABC Book (and I generally hate Dr. Suess), Come On Rain, and America Is...
Woo-hoo! How exciting!!
Maybe I don't have a heightened sense of smell, but I've never smelled any vagina on my pants. -- TSD

Good luck... hopefully we'll be seeing a "it's labor!" post shortly!!

Let's see... not too much new to report here. Last week in the 2nd Tri. Had our glucose screening yesterday... so hopefully I'll get the "passed" call soon. Everything else looks good with our little girl, strong heartbeat and I'm measuring right on track.
QOTD: I love "Where the Wild Things Are". Hopefully my dad, brother, and I will be going to see the movie soon.

QOTD: A favorite from my childhood that I shared with Ren?e is "The Lonely Doll", which is illustrated with really cool B&W photos. I never knew it was a series, but it's been re-released in recent years which is awesome. From Ren?e's childhood one of my favorites has always been "What Bounces?", one of a series of board books featuring guinea pigs as the characters. The book shows the little guinea pig bouncing a number of things out of the fridge (eggs break, cake crumbles), and ends with a tipping stool and the question, Do guinea pigs bounce? (No!!! Never mind.) Made us laugh every time.
Speaking of Ren?e, she is doing really well in school! The new college in Texas apparently agrees with her. She's found all the motivation and study skills she was hiding in high school, and has really applied herself. She's getting all A's for the first time ever, and is on track to graduate with her AS a semester early. We're really proud of her, even if it is a bit startling and new.
We also picked a donor - our second choice; we decided on the first the same afternoon someone else bought the remaining supply. There is a bit of a waiting list for our first choice when he comes available again, so I guess we'll just have to see what happens. In the meantime, we have two vials of a donor we like ready to ship to our house early next month. It feels nice to be doing something new rather than just waiting waiting waiting.
QOTD: I love seeing everyone's favorite books! And I'm surprised that I don't know some of them-- I'll definitely have to look them up. I don't know what my favorite children's book would be, but S has recently become a fan of the Little Nutbrown Hare books, and I've really enjoyed hearing her read them to my belly, so we're going to get a few more (we have When I'm Big and Guess How Much I Love You).
Update: Mostly, things are going really well. It was fun telling S's coworkers and some close coworker-friends the babies' sexes this week, and I'll tell my staff tomorrow (assuming I have the energy to make the cupcakes when I get home).
In the "not great" category, though, are some increasing suspicions that I may have or be heading towards having gestational diabetes. I started checking my blood sugar a couple of days ago when I was feeling strange, and my fasting blood sugars have been a little too high every morning I've checked. We'll see what the OB says on Friday.
Also, at our big u/s the tech spent an inordinate amount of time taking pictures of our little boy's heart. Then at the end they asked us to come back in 3 weeks for a follow-up scan of both the boy's and the girl's hearts. The MFM tried to reassure us that they "just want an extra look", but it has still been a little nerve-wracking to not know what is going on. And November 30th seems so far away!

We did Christmas pictures today. Turned out really cute so hopefully I can get some scans posted soon.
QOTD: I love the Paperbag Princess ( great girl power story ) and right now we are all about reading Llama Llama Red Pajama. That is our current bedtime book. Annie seems to like the rhyme in it.

Love that one!

Our update is that we are finally starting to look for an RE in Atlanta. We figure that we'll have to pay 100% out of pocket so we have the freedom to not have to wait until insurance picks up when we start our new jobs. We're also trying to decide if we should switch sperm banks. After 2 different donors and 5 failed cycles we're really not sure what to do.
QOTD: My favorite would have to be Love You Forever. It's priceless.

DW and I LOVE Llama Llama Red Pajama. There is also Llama Llama Mad at Mama. I hear she is also coming out with a book featuring a bull dog. Glad to hear there is someone else who has discovered Llama Llama and enjoyed it.
