Catholic Church Rec.?

I am in search of a laid back Catholic church. That could be an oxymoron!

:)

We need one to raise our daughter in, but need it to be as laid back as possible, as well as not strict and most accepting.

One in the northside would be grand. Thanks!

Re: Catholic Church Rec.?

  • Im in search of one as well... right now we are going on base to their Catholic Masses( Lackland) but IM also looking for a nice parish to belong to as well.

I really liked St. Brigid. We were married there (Matt is not Catholic) and they were quite easygoing about things :)

  • We went to one off Huebner (I can't think of the name right now).. I liked it, but the church is huge compared to our little one that I grew up in back in RI.

We also went to a baptism there for a friend and the priest was very nice.

  • Oct1406 - was that St. Matthews?

I went there once or twice...its definitely big. and VERY crowded. If I hadn't known better, I might have wondered if it was the only Catholic church in town. It was nice, but intimidating....

  • We are memebers of St. Francis of Assisi on DeZavala and have been for many years.  It is a great community..not too large.  St. Matthews is super huge...so if you can handle that, it's also a good parish.  For us..it's important to have good, personal relationships...our priest is wonderful.

If you have any more questions....just email me...

  • I love St. Mark's off 281 and Thousand Oaks. It's very family/community driven without being overbearing.

DH and I are both active in the youth groups there and we love it!
