XP: Thanksgiving menu... help!

We're having everyone over to our house for Thanksgiving this year, but I need help deciding what to cook when (this weekend, Wednesday, or Thursday). Any advise on what would freeze or be fine to make the day before instead of Thursday would be great!

Appetizers:

-          Veggie tray I was thinking of Wednesday for this

-          Queso/salsa

-          Deviled eggs

-          Jalapeno poppers

Meat:

-          Two turkeys

-          Ham

Sides:

-          Gravy

-          Stuffing

-          Sweet potato casserole (w/ brown sugar and pecans)

-          Mashed potatoes

-          Green bean casserole

-          Rolls These I know can freeze and be made this weekend

-          Corn casserole same as rolls

-          Cranberry sauce (canned)

Dessert: I was thinking of making all of this Wednesday

-          Pumpkin pie

-          Pecan pie

-          Chocolate chip cookies

-          Pumpkin pillows

Re: XP: Thanksgiving menu... help!

  • Looks about right.  The deviled eggs can be made ahead too.  At least the mixture, and just toss the halves into a baggie in the fridge and enlist someone helpful to spoon the filling in on Thursday.

    nothing
  • Desserts hold up pretty good, I would get those out of the way.  I always order my roles from Golden Corral.  They are they best and they do good in the fridge...stuffing does good for a day or two...we make ours early!

    Sounds really good!  Have fun!

    Happy Thanksgiving

  • Costco has a big thing of fresh cranberries that you can turn into sauce very quickly. No need for a can and everyone ends up super impressed. PM me if you want an easy reacipe

  • Mashed potatoes re-heat well, so you could do those the night before or early morning. My dad also makes the stuffing really early (maybe even night before) and then just has it in the fridge until he stuffs the bird.

I also think you can do the desserts Tuesday....JUST in case.
