High Speed Internet Providers (Madison) besides Charter?

We are looking to get rid of our cable and are wondering if there are better deals w/ other companies for high speed internet besides charter.  Any ideas?

I don't have names of particular companies other than TDS but I'm not sure if they even offer home service. You'll have to look into DSL or satelitte because I'm pretty sure Charter is the only one with cable.

We use ATT for internet because charter customer service is really bad.  We still have Charter for cable, but we're switching to direct tv because I hate giving any money to charter.

We have AT&T. It took them forever to get it installed correctly, but now that it's going it's been fine -- no problems in over a year.

dumb question, so if you have AT&T for your internet, do you need phone service through them as well?

Not a dumb question, but I don't know the answer! We do have phone services through AT&T, so I can't say whether we would be able to have the internet without it. I think maybe not, since the internet goes through the phone line? But I don't know for absolute certain.
