Choo

Did you seriously say your pretty, pretty CL petal shoes were no more after 2 hours??? That is sad. And makes me wonder what you were doing.

From one shoe-lover to another, I heart my Manolo D'Orsay pumps too. Got them on the cheap at Filene's. Best. Purchase. Ever. They're the silver python ones with the rhinestone buckle. I think I may walk around the house with them on right now.

Re: Choo

  • Ah, yes. Sadly on my wedding day, I wore the petals for about 2 hours total. In my defense:

    1. My wedding was four days long, so I was in heels constantly. My feet took a beating for beauty. By the next morning (Farewell Brunch), I was in flats.
    2. The One&Only Palmilla (where we, and unfortunately Speidi got married) has pebble walkways. The CLs have zero ankle support and I'm clumsy. It could have been a disaster of epic proportions.
    3. I was drinking champagne like it was going out of style. And lastly,
    4. We had a choreograped first dance, and I'd only practiced it in the d'orsay pumps. Factor in my clumsiness and the champagne...

I think you get the point. But in all fairness, I wear them out all the time now and I wear them all night long without crying too much. They're worth it.

You got d'orsays at Filenes? Spill. I'm on a shoe buying freeze after a summer of splurging and I'm starting to feel the itch...

    From Oy Vey to Ole!

I survived the RoLex wedding and all I got was this lousy husband.

  • Whew. I thought you meant your CLs were ruined after 2 hours. Good to hear they're still in good shape and getting lots of use. Smile

I was on a business trip to D.C. about a year ago and stopped in Filene's to see if they had anything good in the shoe dept. I had gotten a pair of Pucci heels in the Atlanta Filene's a few years before and was still upset that my dog tore them up before I even got to wear them. Anyway, I found the D'orsays like they were calling out to me, they were my size, and they were amazing. Plus, I had a 20% off coupon. I think I paid $250 for shoes that retailed for $995. Sometimes you get lucky at Filene's. I'm a forever fan.
