Football fans:WITW is going on w/Brett Farve?

I've just today been catching up on the news on what is going on with his "retirement" or lack thereof, and I'm really disappointed to hear about it all!  Disgusting.

I kinda thought hw was going to be different than alot of other successful pro athletes and retire with a little class as he already has more money and glory than most people could ever hope to achieve, KWIM?

Is he being wronged in some way and I'm missing the point totally?

Re: Football fans:WITW is going on w/Brett Farve?

  • i think its kinda like me trying to quit the nest.... a lot of my friends up and left but i cant let it go and im still here.,... kwim?

football is IN HIS BLOOD.  its his addiction, his happy place.... and i think hes mostly having  a very hard time letting go.  he kinda needs rehab for football. lol

i dont think it has ANYTHING to do wiht money or fame as he is loaded and is very well liked across the boards in football.  its just very hard for him to let go and i think that maybe when he said he was retireing, others have retired and come back, that he wasnt ready in his heart to let it go.

thats just my take on it.  i still love brett farve, hate the packers but for some reason i cant not like him =)

  • Well,  Carl is getting tired of his back and fourth of "should I, shouldnt I".  It def. was not fair to his team because they dont know what to look forward to, or how to train even.

I think he is just as bad as other QB's (and football / sports players in general).  He is all about the bucks.  He wants a Superbowl, and he doesnt feel he'll get it with the Green and Yellow.  So he is going ot move on.  I say good riddance. I had a LITTLE respect for him before all this, but now I could honestly care less.  I just hope GreenBay can have a great season with out him.  Knock his cocky ego back a little bit!   Just my 2 cents.

  • It will be interesting to see where he'll end up but he has to get reinstated first, since Packers won't do it only commissioner can do it. Then a team has to want him bad enough to trade for him. I can see coming back if people are asking you to, but no one seems to care. Sad for a guy who had a great career.

UH-UH! OH NO YOU DIDNT! *snapping fingers and moving head back and forth* them is fightin words!

  • Yeah, I can't keep track of what the hell he's doing, either.  It's odd, and I'm a bit surprised to see him so all over the place like this.  But I do like him a lot (who doesn't?) so if he comes back it would definitely be good for the game.  Should be interesting to see how it all plays out!

  • I think Kim might be on to something . . . despite how cushy the rest of his life will be, he may view it as empty without football. Maybe he thought he's be ok with retirement, but the more he thinks about it, the more he realizes that he will just be miserable without playing.

Then again, he could just be a greedy bastard like the rest of them . . .

  • Jess - What is up with you?  Your kids look like good little New England sports fans from your sig pic so you just shattered my image of you - LOL!

    (glass breaking)

  • Haha! I know that i should not say "go indy" to loud here in Patriot land, but hey...   It's all in the fun of the game right :-).

Oh, and just wait and see what the new little guy will be wearing when i put a picture of him up here for ya'll.  Carl got the little ones their jerseys, but im in charge of this one, ha-ha!

  • just PLEASE im begging you not a MANNING jersey!  anyone but him! lol

    i cant. stand. him!!!!!!

and yes, since we all love you here in patriot land, we will let this one slide. Wink

  • LOL - I think you know that I mean my comments in the nicest possible way (Coming from the ultimate NE Sports Fan traitor who married a Yankees fan - OMG!)

Oh, and I'm with Kim.....if I have to see a Manning Jersey on that new baby of yours, I might blow chunks!

  • oooh the Yankees thing is another war in my house...  My husband thinks I like em, because he cant stand them.  Truth of it is, with baseball, i dont care either way so much, but i was a rebel at heart so all growing up, i cheered for the Yankees just to piss everyone off, ha-ha!  BBBUUUTTT with football, it is a totally different story.  Always liked the Colts.  It started with just liking their "logo" of the horseshoe...   Then it just grew from there.  Now, i SUPER pinky fuzzy heart Payton!!!  My husband shakes his head at me, but from Aug - Feb, he's my "other" husband...  To bad he is really married... Grrrrr
