Meat Ideas for Potluck

I need to bring a meat dish to a potluck, but I do not want to cook.  Any ideas on meat dishes that I could purchase from a store already cooked? TIA!

Re: Meat Ideas for Potluck

  • a few posts ago someone reminded us all of the magic a bucket of KFC can bring to a potluck.

everyone is always glad to see it because it means there is some sustenance besides chips and a veggie tray.

  • Could you bring a deli platter?

Our local deli makes a variety of meat - broasted chicken, ribs, pork tenderloin. ....  I'm sure if you called ahead, you could have it ready to pick up when it is convient for you.

  • I would throw a pork roast in a crock pot, buy some buns and have pulled pork sandwiches!

  • Most places (Trader Joe's, local grocery) sell pulled pork and pulled chicken already cooked.  You could buy it and heat it up and pretend like you made it! :)

Most grocery stores and costco sell rotiseree chickens.  Or there's always Boston Market.  Costco also sells a lot of pre-cooked things.  I bought a meatloaf there and it was really tasty.  Just had to put it in the oven and add sauce 10 min. before it was done.

Costco sells pre-made dishes you just have to cook.  I had people over for dinner on Sunday and we made the skirt steak.  It came pre-marinated with a side of chimichurri in a separate little plastic container.  Very little work and it was cheap and tasty!

  • The EASIEST meat dish for a pot luck is Meatball Sandwiches.!!!

Just plug your crockpot in & add frozen fully cooked meatballs, and marinara sauce. Then put buns & mozz. cheese on the side.

I do it for our food days at work all the time & now everyone requests it. It's also nice cause there is no need to cook anything ahead of time just put it all in and turn the crock pot on High til it's heated..!!!

    Good Luck..

  • Stauffers or Hormel usually have pre-cooked just nuke in microwave for a few minutes. I usually see the Hormel dinner entree's near the sandwich meat and raw meat. Hormel usually had meat loaf, beef tips for sandwiches, roasted turkey cutlets and a variety of other things. There is always stauffer meals as well, lasagna, chicken enchiladas, veggie lasagna, chicken bake and some other varieties.
