Fun Poll: Nicknames

Does your DH have any nicknames for you?  Do you have any for your DH? Do share!

Re: Fun Poll: Nicknames

  • As a play on his (our) last name and Polish heritage, I call him my "Woly-Poly." He used to hate it, but it has become endearing to him.

    He calls me Snuggle Bunny.

  • We call each other a bunch of different names depending on our mood. My favorite for DH is "rubble dubbles" - I  also use it as a verb. "I rubble dubble you."

I also call him my homey lover friend, lover dupkins and cheramey (his niece says his name like that).

I'm now drawing a blank on what he calls me, but they are along the same lines.

  • LoL... I like Homey Lover Friend!

    Yes

  • We call each other Boy and Girl.  He also calls me Tiger.
  • This sounds kind of stupid, but we call each other "Face" and sometimes "Pants."  And sometimes it gets expanded to "Loveyface."

  • I can't think of any that he calls me... I guess it's just "hey you!"  Haha... but I call him "honey" a lot, which I never thought would happen, it's something I think Grandparents call each other, but I started doing it and it stuck.

I have actually tried out several nicknames for him in our 6ish years together.  I wanted one for him, but none stuck!  I tried Day (as if his name isn't short enough), pumpkin (which he hated and now I call our dog that), button (as in cute as a button, which also got passed to the dog), and doc (since his initials are DR, but I couldn't even remember to use that one!)

He must have nicknames for me that I'm not thinking of, because when he uses my first name, it sounds weird to me, like I'm in trouble or something!

  • We really don't have Nicknames.....but my dog hates when we hug or touch so Tim pushes her away so I always get over dramatic and call/yell that he's a BIG MEANY and my dog starts barking at him....I think it's funny....Then because I have no patience or like to yell at bad drivers or ram our car up into the driveway and slam on the brakes because it's funny....Tim always yells at me..."EASYYYYY....EASYYYYY KILLER"....and he says it in a thick southern accent.....it's funny.....  That's all I got.

  • He has a ton of names for me.  The most common is Gallo (shortened from pico de gallo -- salsa).  Most of them are equally silly and don't really make much sense except for us becuase of when they started.  I mostly call him Monkey.  Smile  We're strange.  I know.
  • :) In our house, if someone uses a nickname, it means we're up to something.  If we hear "sweety" or "hunnybunny" we know the other one has something planned.
  • dh and I both LOVE to make up new nicknames for each other but most are just used once or twice, the ones used often are monkey, muffin and sweetums.

  • ha, these are hilarious!

We call each other "buddy" all the time. We barely use each other's names at all. That evolved to "buddo" and "doobie" for a while, and since we got married that evolved to "doobie husband" and "doobie wife" (not a reference to another meaning of the word!!) We also use "snugs" and "snugsy" and "snugsalicious"

    ha, I can't believe I'm admitting this....

  • These are great Smile

I call him lovebug, sweetheart, babe, and husband/husby (origional I know!). He calls me sweetheart & babe. I'm with some of you, when I hear my real name from him I think I'm in trouble/it sounds wierd :)

  • First let me say that we very rarely call each other by our real names. In everyday conversation it's "honey" and "babe". When we're being cute and silly (which is fairly often) He calls me Muffin or SarahBaby and I call him Moose.

  • OMG- this is great!

This is embarrassing but I call my Hubby:  Peanut Butt (he has a small butt).  He called me Nicolasa La Mocosa (which kinda means Nicole the Booger Girl).

Cipolla- I have road rage too sooo bad.  I am always yelling at people when I drive.

Millie- Gallo also means rooster in spanish but you probably already knew that.

  • Nicole - Yeah, I know gallo is rooster... it just didn't come from there in any way.  BUT lately, as we've been looking at house decorations, he's been pointing out things with roosters... look, it's a gallo!  Do you want it?  Um, no... I don't like roosters... just because you call me one.  Smile  And since you're up on your spanish... my #2 name is Leche (becuase I'm white as milk).

  • LOL... these are so cute and funny!  I'll play... we use the honey, baby, babe a lot.  We also call each other my love or my heart.  He calls me Toots or Tootsie a lot, and I call him Dude or Mikie.  Like a lot of other people, we rarely use our first names with each other.
  • These are cracking me up. DH calls me babe usually, I usually call him B, short for babe. He has been other things over the 6 years. I wish he would call me something cute in spanish! I married the whitest hispanic guy ever...seriously.
  • Millie- I love the nickname Leche!  So cute!

  • DH has called me "Lovely" since right after we started dating. I was totally blown away by the sweetness of it, that it was never going away! I call him "Hunny" and "Beh-beh" (like baby). Big Smile

After 22 cycles and 4 failed IUIs, Serafina joined our family through IVF/ICSI, born 8.28.12
Surprise! The Sequel is due 12.8.14!

  • Haha these are awesome! We only use each others name when that person is in trouble...mostly its babe. I call him Sweets or Sweetums he calls me baby or babygirl. We also call each other by our last names (he calls me by my maiden name). We make up ones off of those all the time too. I also call the dog Monkey or pup and H calls him T-Pain (his name is Tucker)....seriousness has no place in our home ;)
  • omg Kristina, that is hilarious! It reminds me of my grandparents- they used to have a dog that was "my grandma's" dog. Whenever grandpa would give her a kiss goodnight before he went off to bed, that dog would growl at him cause he was touching her. One night he got so mad that he bit my grandpa in the ass!

Let's see... DH calls me anything from sweetheart, to honey, to darling (which in turn gets him an evil eye cause I don't like that one). In fact, he called me by nicknames in his wedding vows which was somewhat embarrassing.   When we were first together I used to call him John-John, which I hardly ever do anymore. Mostly I call him honey or honey bunny or honey buns. If I'm feeling goofy I'll try to come up with the most embarrassing nicknames to call him, like shnookums.

  • One day jokingly I said maybe I should start calling him something all gooey like muffin or sweet pea. Well sweet pea actually stuck. Although now I usually shorten it and just call him peas. Sometimes i'll also call him Mr. T since his name starts with T.

He dosen't really call me anything. Sometimes he'll say babygirl but not that often.
