The towels we got from our wedding registry are very disappointing. They didn't match each other (must have been from different dye lots) and they are starting to wear out already. Does anyone have any recommendations for absorbant, doesn't fall apart bath towels that are available in store (like at the Bay or Sears). Preferably bamboo or some other antibacterial in them so they don't smell musty.
Re: towel recommendations?
GHR TEXTURED RETRE:LINEN:GLUCKSTEI LINEN BATH SHEET
It's copied from my friends Home Outfitters registry, so I hope you (or a sales associate can make sense of it. She got these at her shower and they were amazing. They actually looked like a blanket at first.
Your comment about bamboo - do bamboo towels have natural anti-bacterial properties? I've never heard that and am also in the market for new towels. I'll definitely be looking at bamboo if that's the case.
Thanks for your recc, I'll have to check them out.
As for the bamboo, at least that is what I've heard! We have a mattress with bamboo in the pillowtop and really love it. Bamboo is also a more "green" material because it grows very quickly. I know we should really wash the towels more often but if they are left a little bit too long they get musty and YUCK it's next to impossible to get that smell out (we have even tried the vinegar in the washer trick, no luck).
I just did a google search and the antibacterial claim seems to have mixed reviews (may or may not be true) - here is an article that claims it:

Awesome, thanks!
D left a load of towels in the washer for a few days and now every time they get wet, they smell a little musty. I've tried vinegar and colour safe bleach, but once that smell is in there it's so hard to get out. I was not very impressed to say the least!
